How InkJet Solved Printer Service Issues with CIJ

This meat producer was experiencing problems with their 9450 CIJ units, on their production lines at the time when they called InkJet Inc. It was determined by the plant manager that the 9450 printers needed to be replaced due to three main issues. The first issue started soon after the units were installed on the production line, as the ink did not adhere to the plastic film properly in the cold, damp production environment. Second, the printer interface was challenging for staff to use after training sessions and quick guides nearby, leading to incorrect message selection, difficulty adjusting the settings, and inability to follow proper shut down and startup procedures. Although it is important for facilities to maintain the level of training within their staff, this is unrealistic when so many manufacturer’s rely on temp agencies. Instead of trying to keep staff trained at all times, switching to more simplistic equipment is a simpler solution. The CIJ provider was called on a regular basis to train staff particularly on aligning the printer nozzle, daily maintenance and to shut down procedures. Over time the service quality suffered and the meat producer became frustrated with the lack of response time.  As a result of the inability of their service technician to visit the facility within a timely manner, the meat producer looked for other coding and marking CIJ vendors. With fast response times within 24 hours and printers that run as specified, InkJet Inc is well known in Texas for its reliability and low maintenance costs. 

During the process of helping the meat producer fix their ink adhesion issues, to prove out the quality a 30 day trial was completed of the printer. Once the trial was complete the customer asked the InkJet Inc team for a final quote to purchase the unit. Trust was built and more IJI products were placed on line.
