Carbon Black Ink - DC3052

DC3052 is a carbon black ink, with recommended routine filter changes every 6 months. Carbon black gives a bolder contrast than a dye-based ink and reduces fading from direct sun light. Light Fastness is a property of a pigment such as carbon black. As part of the ASTM rating of (I) which means it can be in direct sunlight for months without fading. Light Fastness is of importance for metal pipe marking since metal sheeting, piping, or parts can be in direct sunlight while being stored.

DC3052 has a shelf life of 12 months from date of manufacture when stored at a temperature range of +35oF to +95oF (+2oC to +35oC).  Prolonged exposures to temperatures outside these limits will shorten the ink shelf life. If there is a possibility that the ink has been frozen during shipping, bring to room temperature (+70oF to +75oF or 21oC to +24oC) and shake well before using.

MIL-SPEC / MIL-STD Ink - DC437

DC437 meets all specifications for MIL-STD 202G Method 215k to be considered a mil-spec ink. “MIL-SPEC” or “MIL-STD” refers to a set of standards set by the United States department of defense. “MIL-SPEC” communicates minimum quality standards a supplier must meet. Certain standards such as MIL-STD 202G Method 215k explains the chemical testing procedure to verify that ink codes or marks will not become faded, discolored or illegible on the parts when subjected to solvents and processes normally used to clean. DC437 also meets the federal standard A-A-208B, which, if cured, becomes chemical resistant.

DC437 Ink has a shelf life of 18 months from date of manufacture when stored at a temperature range of +35oF to +95oF (+2oC to +35oC). Prolonged exposures to temperatures outside these limits will shorten the ink shelf life. If there is a possibility that the ink has been frozen during shipping, bring to room temperature (+70oF to +75oF or 21oC to +24oC) and shake well before using.

Alcohol & Heat Resistant Ink - DC435

DC435 is ideal for metal that may get wiped down with alcohol. Aluminum, steel and other metal tubes, pipes and drums may be cleaned with solvents to remove fingerprints, solder-flux, cutting fluids, and other contaminants from materials post print. DC435 is an ink solution for mills, and manufacturers who print on products during the fabrication and finishing processes where it is easier to print earlier in the process. DC435 was developed for printing on metal, more specifically flat steel and aluminum applications where heat resistances was of importance.

DC435 Ink has a shelf life of 15 months from date of manufacture when stored at a temperature range of +35oF to +95oF (+2oC to +35oC). Prolonged exposures to temperatures outside these limits will shorten the ink shelf life. If there is a possibility that the ink has been frozen during shipping, bring to room temperature (+70oF to +75oF or 21oC to +24oC) and shake well before using. This ink is sensitive to cold temperatures and should not be frozen.

Red & Dark Blue Inks for Parts and Automotive Fluids

DC414R and DC682 are both used for automotive fluids, lubes containers (often plastic as well as metal) and parts manufacturing.

DC414R is a red ink that creates a great contrast on an array of colored substrates while being alcohol resistant. Automotive fluids manufacturers prefer an alcohol resistant ink when coding their products. It is a fast-drying red, ketone-based product, exhibiting alcohol rub resistance and adhesion. It exhibits overall enhanced chemical resistance to soaps, alkali and lubricants.  The ink has good to excellent light fastness (fade resistance) properties and good abrasion resistance.

The ink has a shelf life of 12 months from date of manufacture when stored at a temperature range of 40°F to 95°F (4°C to 35°C). InkJet, Inc. claims no responsibility of shortened ink shelf life outside of these temperature limits.

Note: Avoid exposing to cold temperature (less than 40º F or 4º C)

DC682 is a dark blue and is oil penetrating. An oil penetrating ink helps in applications where the product is marked or coded prior to a post process of cleaning the bottles. Part of the development process for DC682 included rub tests to prevent friction once in the final packaging.

DC682 has a shelf life of 18 months from date of manufacture when stored at a temperature range of +35oF to +95oF (+2oC to +35oC).  Prolonged exposures to temperatures outside these limits will shorten the ink shelf life. If there is a possibility that the ink has been frozen during shipping, bring to room temperature (+70oF to +75oF or 21oC to +24oC) and shake well before using.
