ISO 9001 2015 Upgrade
InkJet, Inc Completes Quality Management System Certification Upgrade to ISO 9001:2015
InkJet, Inc., a leading global producer of industrial inks, fluids and printers, completed an upgrade from the ISO 9001:2008 quality management standard to the ISO 9001:2015 version. The new version of the standard replaces the previous version. InkJet, Inc. addressed many steps to complete this upgrade to this upgrade over a three-year period to ensure that its quality management processes are efficient and best suited to benefit their customers.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 161 national standards bodies. Through its members, ISO brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market relevant International Standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges (See www.iso.org for more information.). ISO issued ISO 9001:2015 in September 2015 and allowed manufacturing companies three years to complete the upgrade that would enable them to maintain the certification.
“Maintaining the highest standards for all of our processes, which includes manufacturing and quality control, is critical to our ability to meet and exceed the expectations of our distributors, resellers and end users around the world,” commented Curt Gladney, Quality Control and Environmental Health & Safety Manager for InkJet, Inc. “InkJet, Inc. is fanatical about ensuring customer satisfaction. We are constantly seeking better ways to improve every aspect of our business, and every member of our team is empowered to present ideas and recommendations that make our company the best we can. I am especially thankful to our amazing team members who worked diligently to complete this upgrade process.”
The ISO 9001:2015 quality management standard, which is more user-friendly for service and knowledge-based organizations, offers numerous benefits that include, but are not limited to, the following:
-
Use of simplified language as well as a common structure and terms, which are particularly helpful to organizations using multiple management systems, such as those for the environment, health and safety, or business continuity
-
Increased emphasis on leadership engagement
-
Improved ability to address organizational risks and opportunities in a structured manner
-
Improved ability to address supply chain management needs more effectively
